Tudum!!!

Never greet a person named Jack on an airplane,

Because everyone would listen it as “HIJACK

Welcome to the communication show……. Let’s begin!

Are we silent when someone is speaking?

The most probable answer will be no we might be silent by mouth but our mind constantly keeps on speaking and responding and once this response in mind is ready, we don’t even hear, listening goes to whole new level there!

The true listening is “listening from within the other person’s reference without judging them”

Remember “Hearing is Function, while Listening is Desire

Hearing —–> Conscious

Listening —–> Subconscious

We generally choose to ‘listen’ or ‘not listen’ when:

  • We enjoy or agree with what is being shared or what we are listening to.
  • There is speaker prejudice or preference.
  • There is no threat to our ‘Core Values’

“Listening is emotionally healthy”

  • If we are good ‘listeners’ people will be drawn to us.
  • Listening gives another person to vent.

Any issues can be solved by listening and discussing not by debating or argumenting. We can listen when our emotional qualities like culture, religion, profile, political views or something that is threat to your thinking is balanced. But once this emotional part is triggered our listening capacity goes down. This emotional trigger changes the whole attitude and tone of speaking.

Listening is other half of communication and the world needs us to ‘listen’ to each other more than ever before.

We should prefer to ‘listen’ over ‘talking’ by always keeping the attribute “WAIT” in mind.

W – Why

“Listening focus on speaker and not on our own thoughts”

There is study which shows that distraction of 2-2.5 seconds can even double the chance of mistake……. So according to this,

“Multitasking is a MYTH”

That’s it for today untill next time keep on improving communication skills. Have a great Sunday and don’t forget to Like, Share and Comment your thoughts on Bold Bunny Blogs.
